What CSV Editor & Converter does
Open with columns and accents right
On Windows, the file opens with its columns separated and its accents right. Encoding, Delimiter and Header sit in the toolbar, each flagged Auto or Manual.
Check rows against recipient rules
On Mac, set the fields and values a recipient expects, then check every current row. Each row shows as eligible or held, with the reason beside each exception.
Keep leading zeros as text
Leading-zero IDs and long codes stay visible as text.
Edit cells and undo changes
Edit cells and headers directly, and undo if you change your mind. Undo and redo reach back 50 steps.
How it works
Step 1 of 4
Open the file
Open CSV or TSV data and check that Encoding, Delimiter and Header match the file.
Step 2 of 4
Edit the cells
On Mac, edit cells and headers, and find or sort the rows you need.
Step 3 of 4
Check rows before delivery
On Mac, check the complete current table against the recipient's rules. Correct the source and check again before delivery.
Step 4 of 4
Save or export the result
Save writes the table back over the file you opened. Export writes a new file with its own delimiter and encoding.

Questions
Does it change my original file?
On Windows, Save writes the table back over the file you opened. Copy the original first if you need it exactly as it arrived.
Which formats does it open and write?
It opens and writes CSV and TSV files. On Mac, export also covers representable JSON and single-table XLSX.
Can it calculate formulas?
No. It is not a spreadsheet, so it has no formulas, charts or workbook formats.
Can I process several files at once?
On Windows, one file at a time: dropping several files opens the first of them. On Mac, Safe Batch Dry Run shows what each attempt would do before anything is written.
