What Pencil Sketch Photo Effect does

  • Pick a drawing technique

    Pick Outline, Tonal Graphite or Directional Hatching. Each technique previews your own picture.

  • Fine-tune line weight and tones

    Adjust line weight, tones and background, then compare the result with the original.

  • Save settings as Custom Looks

    Keep favourite settings as Custom Looks and reuse them on another photo.

  • Frame the drawing or leave it open

    Choose from 24 frames or let the drawing stand on its own.

  • Fit it to paper with set margins

    Use an 8×10, A4 or Letter page in portrait or landscape, with adjustable margins.

  • Check the print resolution

    See the effective print resolution and a clear warning if the layout falls below 300 PPI.

How it works

  1. Step 1 of 5

    Open your photo

    Open a photo with the Open Photo button. The drawing previews on your own picture.

  2. Step 2 of 5

    Choose a drawing technique

    Select Outline, Tonal Graphite or Directional Hatching in the Technique strip.

  3. Step 3 of 5

    Adjust the strokes

    Set Edge Intensity, Threshold and Line Weight in the stroke controls.

  4. Step 4 of 5

    Set the page

    Choose a page size, orientation and margins on the Page view.

  5. Step 5 of 5

    Review and save

    Open the Deliver view, check the output, then save a copy, print or share it.
