What WebP Express Photo Converter does
Batch up to 500 photos at once
Drop up to 500 images into the grid, and the batch runs in parallel across your processor cores. Conversion starts when you press Convert.
Estimate the new size before you save
Press Estimate on the selected photo to see its converted size and percentage saving. The estimate writes no file to disk.
Set quality by slider or preset
Adjust the quality slider from 0.0 to 1.0, or snap it to Low (0.5), Medium (0.75) or High (0.90).
Write lossless WebP with one switch
Turn on Lossless to write a true lossless WebP instead of a lossy one. The switch applies to WebP output only.
Check the result of every file
A log lists each file with its output format, size and time taken. A failed file shows the reason it failed.
How it works
Step 1 of 4
Add the photos as files
Drop or import up to 500 image files into the grid. On Windows, a folder is refused and the import is refused without a message.
Step 2 of 4
Choose the format and quality
Pick WebP or another output format, then set the quality slider or a preset. WebP is the default.
Step 3 of 4
Estimate one photo first
On Windows, select the image that represents the rest of the folder and press Estimate. Nothing is written to disk.
Step 4 of 4
Convert and choose where files go
Press Convert. Pick one destination folder, or turn on Save to source folder to write beside each original.
Writes WebP, PNG, JPEG, TIFF and BMP on both platforms. On Mac, JPEG 2000 and HEIC are also outputs.

Questions
Does it change my original files?
On Windows, with Save to source folder on, a file converted to the format it already has is written over its original, with no prompt or undo. Without it, the batch goes to one folder you choose.
Which formats does it write?
WebP, PNG, JPEG, TIFF and BMP on both platforms. On Mac, JPEG 2000 and HEIC are also outputs.
Does it keep EXIF and GPS data?
On Windows, no. Every conversion is written without EXIF, GPS or copyright fields, and the colour profile is not kept either.
Does it convert whole folders?
On Windows, no. It does not walk subfolders or watch a folder. Add the image files themselves.
