What Selective Color Photo FX does
Pick the hue straight from the image
Sample a colour from the picture. That hue keeps its colour and the rest of the frame turns black and white.
Start from a preset
Pick a starting look, then adjust each slider. On Windows, the presets are Red Pop, Sunset Only, Sky Focus, Green Nature and Skin Tones.
Shape the edge and grade the kept hue
Range Width and Feathering set how much colour survives and how soft the edge is. Color Boost and Hue Shift strengthen or move the kept colour.
Tint the black and white
Keep the monochrome neutral grey or give it a tone. On Windows, pick Gray, Sepia, Cool Blue, Warm Brown, Silver Gelatin or Green Tint.
Compare the edit with the original
Switch between Preview, Reveal and Split, and zoom in for detail. On Mac, hold up to three A/B/C looks during the session.
Keep up to three accents on Mac
On Mac, keep one, two or three hues and choose This Area to limit where an accent remains. Protect Color and Remove Color fix exceptions.

Questions
How does it decide which areas stay in colour?
By hue. Every area inside the chosen hue range keeps its colour and the rest turns black and white. On Mac, when the same hue appears in two places, choose This Area to limit it. On Windows, both areas stay, and there is no brush or mask.
Which formats can I save?
On Mac, JPEG, PNG or HEIF when available, with output size and quality where it applies, and you preview the resulting file before you save or share it. On Windows, a JPEG saved through Save As to a new file you name.
Can it keep a white or grey subject?
On Windows, no. A subject with no colour has no hue to select, so it turns black and white with the rest.
Can it process a whole folder of photos?
No. It finishes one photo at a time. There is no batch mode.
