What Light Mixer does

  • Shape an edge wash or bloom

    Create a continuous edge glow or a soft bloom. Set where the glow starts, how far it spreads, its colour and its strength.

  • Keep faces clear of added light

    Place up to two feathered clear regions over a face or detail. They are placed by hand and affect only the added light.

  • Compare alternatives before applying

    Audition Current, A and B from the same starting point. Apply the one you prefer, or Cancel to return to the prior edit.

  • Try a named Look or texture

    Try a named Look or one of 30 included light textures for more options.

  • Frame the output before saving

    Choose Full, Square, Story (1080 × 1920) or Custom framing, then reposition the subject and inspect source or output pixels.

How it works

    Open a photo

    Start with your own picture or the included Evening Portrait.

  2. Step 2 of 5

    Shape the glow

    Set an Edge Wash or Bloom, then adjust where the glow starts, how far it spreads, its colour and its strength.

  3. Step 3 of 5

    Place clear areas

    Add up to two feathered clear regions over faces or details that should stay unlit.

  4. Step 4 of 5

    Compare and apply

    Audition Current, A and B, then apply the one you prefer or cancel to return to the prior edit.

  5. Step 5 of 5

    Frame and export

    Choose a Finish size, check the output pixels, then export as JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG, BMP or TIFF.

Saves JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG, BMP or TIFF. Copy and Share are available for compatible images.

Can it detect faces automatically?

No. Clear regions are placed by hand, not through automatic face detection.

Can it process a batch of photos?

No. It works on one photograph at a time.

Can I undo a change or go back?

Yes. Undo and Redo let you revisit edits, and Cancel returns to the prior edit.

Is it available on Windows?

Not at the moment.
