What Duplicate Image Detector does
Find exact and look-alike copies
Scan a selected folder, or the photos in Photos after you grant access. Choose Exact, Similar or Both matching and adjust how closely photos should match.
Compare copies side by side
Open each group with real previews and file details. Compare a pair side by side, then decide which photo is worth keeping.
Keep the copy you choose
Keeper preferences can help, but you can choose a different copy yourself.
Review the space before clean-up
See the selected file count and estimated space before anything is marked for clean-up. The automatic selection rules do not mark the only copy.
Move extras to Bin, and undo
Bin is the default clean-up destination, with a confirmation step. Supported clean-up actions can be undone while their recovery option is still available.

Questions
Does it change my original files?
Only the copies you mark are moved, and only after you confirm. Bin is the default clean-up destination.
Can I undo a clean-up?
Supported clean-up actions can be undone while their recovery option is still available.
Will it mark the only copy?
No. The automatic selection rules do not mark the only copy, and you can protect specific folders from automatic marking.
Are look-alike photos truly the same?
Similarity is a guide, not proof that two photos are interchangeable. Review the copies you mark before cleaning up.
